The issue of authenticity when it comes to Hip Hop in South Africa remains a big topic, others feel rappers are losing culture and originality because they want to imitate Americans.
Some people feel that the term authenticity in Hip Hop is misplaced because it often expects new wave rappers to use vernac for them to be considered original.
